Hi fellow students! I will be blogging this year about my experience as an educational research intern. I actually started interning this summer and have continued my internship into the school year, despite the fact that I have another full-time job. It should be an interesting time, so I'm happy to share it with you.
Originally I did not set out on this path. I had planned to be a veterinarian all through college, and ended up changing my mind after entering vet school. Since I then had no career prospects, I went back to school for a Master's in Education. Working on my Master's research sparked a policy interest that I had been keeping under wraps for far too long, and I taught for one year before deciding to go back to school to study policy. Now I'm pursuing my MPA, teaching science, and interning at the Arizona Charter Schools Association as a Research Associate. I also teach in a charter, so I can see myself heading in the direction of charter school promotion - hence the blog name. Hope you enjoy my adventures!

Hello Kathryn
Wow you are a busy bee. I will be both happy and excited to hear about your grand adventure.
I have an undergra in Communication, from ASU. I was married for a while and after my divorce I decided to go back to school to pursue an MPA. I find it interesting how you went from vetenarian to education. However, I think it was an excellent choice. We need good teachers, teachers with a passion to teach, it can make a world of difference in our communities.
I currently work for the City of Scottsdale, Planning and Development Department, and doing an internship at the same time. I have worked for COS for 8 years, 4.5 of those years I worked for the Police Department.
I look forward to reading about your exciting yet busy internship.
I cant imagine how busy you are. Are you taking other classes as well? I have the intership and it is 40 hours a week as well as taking classes but they are online. I hope that you dont go crazy with how much stuff you have taken on.:) Good luck.
